When you think of Brazil what images spring to mind? Carnivals? Ronaldinho and Neymar bamboozling defenders? When partypoker thinks of Brazil it thinks of the latest addition to its roster, Joao “joaosimaobh” Simao.

That’s correct, partypoker has added to its star-studded roster of ambassadors by signing Brazilian superstar Joao Simao to its ranks. Currently ranked ninth in the world for online poker tournaments by PocketFives.com (Simao has been ranked number one in the world this year), Simao has more than $4.5 million in winnings, with almost $350,000 of that massive total stemming from his play at partypoker.

You may recall is was Simao who won the partypoker online Grand Prix in May 2016 for $42,643.33.

As part of the agreement, partypoker will be partnering with the highly regarded Massari poker school where players from all over Brazil and surrounding regions learn how to play poker and will train using the partypoker software.

Simao is no slouch in the live area either. To date, Simao has amassed almost $530,000 in live tournament winnings, helped by six cashes at the World Series of Poker, including an eighth-place finish in a $1,500 pot-limit Omaha Hi/Lo event in 2013.

Now Simao has set his sights on adding to his two cashes in the Caribbean when he heads to the Caribbean Poker Party sporting the famous partypoker patch. Simao was in the Caribbean in January 2015 where he won a $2,200 no-limit hold’em 6-max event at the PCA for a cool $81,720. Before then, Simoa will represent partypoker at the WSOP Brazil festival next week.

Group Head of partypoker Tom Waters said: “It is a pleasure to have Joao and Luiza join partypoker as ambassadors. Joao and his wife are the perfect team and we are proud that they have chosen to represent partypoker in the Brazilian market. We are also thrilled at the opportunity to engage with the Massari poker school, which offers the Brazilian poker community the chance to learn how to play poker in a fun and safe environment with the real prospect of winning some incredible prizes on partypoker.”

partypoker Ambassador Joao Simao said: “I am honoured to join the partypoker team and am extremely excited about what I am able to do for the Brazilian poker community with the support of partypoker. I look forward to representing the site that has been, and I am sure will again be, the largest in the world.”
